| MotoGP 2007 |
| Moto GP is the pinnacle of motorcyle racing. It's the motorcycle equivalant of Formula 1, in both speed, technology, and fan devotion. Moto GP used to be run at Laguna Seca in the eighties and ninties, but left the United States in 1994. It returned in 2005 and now draws upwards of 140,000 spectators on race day. It's definately an amazing event to be a part of.

My friends Bryan and Julie on the way into the parking lot at Laguna. |
Kim and I. Our first time at the tracks. |
Casey Stoner coming around a corner. |
This weekend was also host to the AMA races. This is Ben Bostrom's bike (155) and Josh Herrin's bike (46). |
Ever wonder why racing is expensive? Because you need to buy a machine dedicated to blowing air through your undergarments. |
Jake Zemke's bike. |
Me and one of the many umbrella girls at the track. |
Mmmmmm.... MV Agusta.... |
Wow, shiney! |
I love two stroke motorcycles. This has got to be a handful to ride. |
Contrary to popular belief, the Jelly Belly bike is not a scratch and taste. In fact, it tastes like plastic. Bleech... |
There are LOTS of free samples at the track. Kim is powerless to the allure of free samples. Especially if it's edible. |
Another umbrella girl. |
Shaquille O'Neal's helmet. |
Bryan and I mixing it up with the Repsol ladies. Can you believe I had to almost drag Bryan into this shot? What a devoted husband. |
The Geico Gecko molesting me. |
I went to Cannery Row last year during Moto GP and met Mick Doohan. The girl on the right was there too, and Mick was hitting on her big time. |
The umbrella girls were VERY friendly with Kim and Julie. |
Can they still be considered umbrella girls if they don't have umbrellas? Well, this girl was promoting Bravo Condoms. I love the K-Fed looking dude in the background. |
Ahhh... The highlight of the weekend. Never heard of Kymco cycles before, but I want one now. The girl on the left had her hand on my butt. She wanted me.... to leave her alone... |
Here's Valentino Rossi coming out of turn 8 (The famous Corkscrew at Laguna Seca) into turn 8A. |
Casey Stoner taking it slow during qualifying. He had already set the fast time, so he wasn't pushing very hard on this cool down lap. |
Dani Pedrosa on a qualifying lap. These photos were very hard to take. They're going about 90+ miles per hour at this point in the track. |
Valentino leaning it over into 8A. |
The reigning champion Nicky Hayden going slow for the fans after his fast qualifying lap. |
The standing after qualifying. That's Casey Stoner in #1, Dani Pedrosa #2, Chris Vermeulen #3, Nicky Hayden #4, Valentino Rossi #5, This should be Loris Capirossi, not Alex Hoffman in #6, John Hopkins #7, Colin Edwards #8, Shinya Nakano #9, & Marco Melandri #10, which was impressive because he had a bad crash earlier in the day and hurt his foot really bad. |
More ladies handing out free stuff. |
This was the tallest Army soldier I have ever seen. |
Valentino Rossi's bike. |
We went down to Cannery Row after the AMA race. They shut down all of Cannery Row and only motorcycles can park there. It's solid bikes for several blocks on both sides of the street. It's crazy. These guys were trying to illicit some illegal behavior. |
A few of the bikes on Cannery Row. |
Both at the track and at Cannery Row, they had special parking for the Repsol replica bikes. |
I LOVE two stroke motorcycles. I'd love to have any one of these three. |
Stupid looking helmet... Check... Stupid looking bike... Check. |
They had a tribute to Moto GP legend Wayne Rainey this race weekend. |
Real live umbrella girls. With umbrellas even. |
This was one of Marco Melandri's umbrella girls. She was handing out posters. |
And the man himself, Marco Melandri. |
Kurtis Roberts. He had a bad day, I think they stopped halfway through the race with mechanical problems. |
Loris Capirossi signing for the fans. |
Casey Stoner heading into the changing area. He's a really small guy. Just slightly bigger than jockey sized. |
Dani Pedrosa signing some autographs. Yes, he was that close, I'm not zoomed in very far. |
AMA legend Miguel Duhamel got a ride this weekend on a GP bike. Unfortunately they had mechanical issues too, and he didn't finish the race. |
Nicky Hayden signing for the fans. I've never seen a crowd go wild like this crowd did when he walked out. |
Nicky up close and personal. |
Nicky up front during the warm-up lap. Unfortunately, it would be the last time he'd be up at the front. He got bumped in the second turn on the first lap and dropped all the way to the back of the pack. He never recovered. |
The first lap of the race. That would be the closest anyone got to Casey Stoner throughout the race. The Ducati's this year are crazy fast. |
A great shot of the racers coming through the corkscrew. |
Casey Stoner after winning the race. The Aussie flag came from a guy sitting in front of us. He hopped the fence to give the corner worker the flag. |
The final standings of the race. |
Actually, contrary to popular belief, Casey Stoner didn't win the race. I did! Here I am taking a victory sip from the trophy. |
